Orpiment is a roguelike combining deck-building mechanics with real-time knight duels. Players don’t control the fighters directly, but instead influence the battle by managing the audience and their actions in real time.

On this project, I was responsible for designing gameplay mechanics and features, including prototyping, evaluation, and iteration.

I handled the creation and maintenance of Game Design Documents (GDD), as well as balancing documentation using Rational Level Design (RLD), and ensured clear communication of the game vision and requirements across the team.

I also oversaw the implementation of gameplay features, their balancing, ensuring alignment with the creative direction, and I designed the game’s narrative.

I contributed to level design creation and implementation, conducted benchmark analyses on similar games and features, and organized internal playtests (protocol definition, data collection and analysis, reporting, and recommendations).
